The next betapitch | Berlin will be taking place on May, 2nd 2014 during the ThingsCon. We will give 8 promising startups the chance to pitch upfront a critical jury and a great supporting audience. In Berlin we have a heart for hardware startups! Agenda: 18:00 - 20:00 - startup pitches 21:00 - late: drinks & BBQ The jury will choose the winner based on 5 criteria: technology,concrete user benefit, business model, team, presentation skills. BACKGROUND Since its founding in 2009, betahaus has made a name for itself as an internationally renowned starting point for creative workers and startups in Berlin, Sofia, Hamburg and Barcelona. betapitch - a startup competition organized by betahaus - gives aspiring startup teams a headstart in a place they can call home. Over the course of one year, we organize local betapitch events all over Europe. The first place team of each local betapitch will then pitch against each other at the betapitch | global competition on Aug, 30th 2014. Over the last years, the event has grown rapidly across Europe. This year our partners in Denmark (republikken), Austria (sektor5) and maybe even our friends in the US (1776DC, tbc) are joining the betapitch | event series. HARDWARE FOCUS The Berlin betapitch is focused on hardware. Why? First, because we love hardware. And because we are part of the thingscon and we just launched the first Hardware Accelerator in continental Europe. Some of the startups pitching have been part of the hardware accelerator. Others are just part of our betahaus ecosystem.
