We are excited to have Stephan Bayer for a very special edition of our GTEC Open Lectures - not only do we have the honour of welcoming such a well-known and well-respected guest, but this is the first Open Lecture in our new home. Stephan Bayer is Founder and CEO of one of Europe's leading EdTech companies, sofatutor.com, which helps students to improve their school grades through an interactive, video-based platform. It offers a unique combination of 13,000 video lessons, 30,000 practice problems, and a live tutor Homework Chat for students requiring additional support. Currently, over one million students across three European countries use the platform, with this number bound to grow as Sofatutor is soon expanding to the US. A social scientist and economist by training, Stephan worked as a referee for the Humboldt University in Berlin and at age 17, founded an NGO aimed at promoting cross-cultural understanding in young Europeans.
