H/F Berlin Talk #12: Github's Former Co-founder on Growing a Company from 4 to 450
We are excited to announce that we will have the former co-founder of Github, Scott Chacon, join us for this talk on growing an international company from 4 to 450, and then starting all over again at 4.
About the Speaker:
Scott Chacon is the former co-founder of GitHub; now co-founder and CEO of Chatterbug, an online language learning school based in San Francisco and Berlin. He helped grow GitHub from 4 co-founders to 450 employees and a $2B valuation in 8 years. Scott is also the author of Pro Git, published by Apress and found online at git-scm.com. In unrelated news, he holds a WSET Level 3 certification in Wines and Spirits and hosts wine education nights for charity. In his spare time, he is learning to play the violin with his 8 year old daughter.
Scott will talk about the experiences and lessons learned from growing a company from 4 to 450 employees in the heart of Silicon Valley during the unicorn boom. Then we might take a turn into how those lessons translate into starting a new company in a totally different field based partially out of Berlin. Then maybe we'll talk about issues with the Deutsche Weingesetz, who knows. ;)
Itinerary:
6:45pm - Doors open
7:15pm - Talk starts
7:45pm - Q&A
8:00pm - Networking and Drinks
We are looking forward to seeing everyone at SI Labs on June 26th!
