ОПИСАНИЕ
The goal of Ciklum Saturdays is to create a platform for knowledge sharing, networking and experience exchange on a particular technology/language. Saturdays are held once per month in the different cities, where Ciklum has its offices. You can track the history of our Saturdays at our Habra blog.
This time we gather to discuss what’s new, tricky or just useful can be in old, well-known Java:)
Our program is still developing and at the moment looks as:
1. Cassandra’s prophecy by Igor Khotin, Java guru. Igor will consider in his speech: data model, principles of operation and application features of scalable distributed database system Apache Cassandra. Also he will enlighten what place NoSQL databases can take in a modern IT-infrastructure.
2. Actors in JVM: architecture for competitive fault-tolerant applications in pictures by Viktor Teslenko, Java trainer, consultant.
In the presentation Viktor will tell about the model of actors and Akka; how this model is implemented in Java. Will pay attention to the simple examples of functionality which can be reached with the help of actors.
3. How to make your personal chatbot: GTalk, Skype by Yuriy Yakovlev, Project Manager, CSC - Project Office (Ciklum Dnepropetrovsk).
Yuriy will cover following technologies: Google App Engine, XMPP, SkypeKit.
4. Maven: assembly model by Anton Naumov, Java Software Engineer, Intego Group (Kharkov).
In his presentation Anton will tell how to begin Maven. As well he will provide a brief overview of the standard cycle of the assembly; dependency management, profiles & settings, multi-module and dependent projects, and release & assembly.
