Lecture and dinner in Prague

We are excited to announce that we will visit the beautiful city of Prague in April with a lecture followed by an exquisite dinner. On April 18 at 6:00 p.m. Senior Software Engineer Valentin Ziegler will talk about the many merits of C++ in comparison to Java in his talk "C++ vs. Java": We love C++ and use it daily. In this talk we explain why – despite its reputation for complexity – C++ is conceptually a much better language than Java. At least "better" in the sense that it allows us programmers to express our thoughts more clearly than would be possible in Java: C++ lets us write abstractions without losing performance, and C++ gives us a uniform resource handling mechanism for all kinds of resources, not just memory. The lecture will take place at Czech Technical University in Prague, Thákurova 9, Room T9: 111. After the lecture, we will invite all our guests to enjoy a delicious dinner at AvantGarde Restaurant (Evropská 2690/17, Praha 6 – Dejvice). We would like to invite all students, academic staff and professors of Computer Science and related fields to join us for lecture and dinner, or simply for either one of the two.
