"We build a specialized and complex product with a relatively small team. The user-facing part of the product is just as important as the concrete, narrowly specialized details of back-end implementation for the general success of the product. Given this, our success depends on everyone, from the CEO to interns, clearly understanding all aspects of the product. How do we build an engineering organization to enable product management at all levels of the org? How can we guarantee clarity and correct distribution of responsibilities, all serving the purpose of fast and high-quality decision making? Well, we do not have the ultimate answers. But we do have a working organizational model and some successful experience worth sharing."
