React Kyiv December Meetup

We have something special for you this time! Our December meetup will take place on 19th of December! Because the event will be on holiday - St. Nicolas Day, together with you we want to make something good. This time entry to the event will be paid and every penny we get we will donate for homeless cats and dogs in HappyPaw fund. We don’t have fixed price for entry so you can pay as much as you want but minimal sum is 100UAH (4$). Also, whole event this time will be in English. 🎤 TALKS: Name in Vain: Improving Design One Word at a Time Boris Litvinsky, Software Engineer @ Wix As developers, we all appreciate readable code. Yet, we tend to neglect the one thing that makes it so - naming. This negligence however, tends to impact our code in far greater capacity than we realize. In fact, it threatens the one thing we care about the most - software design. In this talk we’ll rediscover the importance of naming, explore the anatomy of bad name and see what makes a good one. Building UI for Attendify's event data management platform Roman Liutikov, Front-End Developer @ Attendify This talk is an experience report on building front-end in ClojureScript and React. We are going to cover technologies stack, development and design process, take look at how particular features were implemented and do a little demo with audience to get a sense of the product in action. The talk might be interesting for those who is enjoying learning from other's experience and wants to get a glimpse of how UIs are built in ClojureScript. Plus, lightning talks at the end!
