Intro

Daina Gailiusaite
By 2022 IT and engineering sector will lack 16 000 employees, and these are the stats only for Latvia. To make things worse, last year an OECD report on gender equality found that less than 1 in 20 girls considered careers in STEM.
Recently Tele2 Shared Service Center has conducted a research among 8 grade students in Riga trying to find the answers about children perception towards IT and how it can be changed. Research findings are shocking, so join the meet-up and be the first to know how we can challenge the existing situation together!

Dmitry Lebedev
What are innovations? Are innovations something that tied to a gender? Are innovations something that tied to HiTech? Should innovations be always backed up by science? When should we unleash your creativity and when should we stick to the devil we know? If you look at top 10-20-30 innovators - 90% (or even may be 95%) of them will be males from HiTech.
What I’m offering is to look at innovation from a different angle, learn about non-HiTech innovations, learn how pie-chart saved thousands of lives, learn how being too innovative could kill you, etc.
