RTG Meetup #10: Girls and Games

Women and gaming, unite! For most of us, who occasionally play computer games, gaming means fun way how to spend free time. But did you know that you could have fun building games and get paid for it? Yes, career in the gaming is a thing! We gladly present you the next topic of RTG meet-up “Games and Girls”! Come and hear stories of women working in gaming industry: game designers, artists. Please meet our speakers: Linda Strazdiņa, game designer, Co-founder of Game Developers Association. Linda has extensive experience in gaming industry. It began six year ago and since then Linda has not only worked as game designer, but has been one of the founding members of the Latvian Game Developers Association. She has worked on mobile and social games and currently her main focus is dedicated to a game called Bearslayer which was released in Steam Early Access in January 2017. Laura Vilsone, game artist. Laura has studied IT at RTU and worked as 2D game designer at MadSword, in addition to working on her own projects. Her main inspiration came from playing computer games herself which later led her to work in the industry. Laura will share some insights into her journey as a game designer.
