------------------------------------------------- SCIENCE HACK DAY BERLIN 2016 Final Hack Presentations 15:00, Sunday 25th September FabLab Berlin all welcome, drinks at the bar ------------------------------------------------- Our models have predicted it, the sages have foretold it, the stars have aligned: the intergalactic phenomenon that is Science Hack Day is heading back to Berlin. Gathering 80 of the most creatively sciency scientists, artists, developers, designers and enthusiasts from Berlin and elsewhere in it's cosmic embrace and releasing them into Fab Lab Berlin's maker wonderland for an intense 48 hours of extreme collaboration. On Sunday 25th September you will have the chance to see the results of this brief, but intense period of collaboration. From 15:00 FabLab will open its doors to all who didn't manage to join in on the Science Hack Day this year, or are simply curious to see what's been happening in there. All teams will present their weird, wonderful and sciency science hacks for friends, fans and a panel of expert judges. Prizes will be awarded for different categories including the audience favourite. Come meet the hackers, check out their hacks, and cast your vote! --- What is Science Hack Day? The mission of Science Hack Day is to get excited and make things with science! A Hack Day is a 48-hour-all-night event that brings together designers, developers, scientists, artists and other enthusiasts in the same physical space for a brief but intense period of collaboration, hacking, and building ‘cool stuff’. By collaborating on focused tasks during this short period, small groups of hackers are capable of producing remarkable results. What’s a Hack? A hack is a quick solution to a problem – maybe not the most elegant solution, but often the cleverest. Hacking is about understanding a system – be it an alarm clock, an establishment, or a fundamental law of nature – and cleverly tweaking it to improve, repurpose, or subvert it beyond its creator's original purpose. It can be ingeniously innovative, disruptive, or critical.
