TechHub Riga Meetup

TechHub Riga has a new friend and supporter for our Meetups -Latvian Guarantee Agency (LGA) Our special guest for December is Andres Susi, who will walk about working "on both sides of the barricades". He has been a venture capitalist and has invested in 9 companies. After that Andres founded and co-founded 3 companies (Cherry Media, Flirtic and Newspin). Andres will talk about his adventures and why he thinks some were more successful than others - lessons learned for others not to follow. Our second guest (TechHub Riga Resident member) Gundega Dekena works at Udacity - an online university started by Sebastian Thrun - the founder of the famous Google X lab, and the innovator behind Googles self driving car and Google Glass. She will share the personal story of getting noticed between thousands of students, leveraging that and being hired. Gundega will also talk about company culture that promotes innovation and initiative, and the lessons she learned from the founders. TechHub Talent Pitch - our new tradition, the opportunity for startups to pitch for talent. Startups can apply to get 2 minutes to talk about their company, who they are looking for and why they should join. Those looking for startup jobs, founders looking for co-founders, all are welcome. If you want to pitch for talent, you have to apply to zane.berzina@techhub.com and send two pages in PDF, one summarizing your startup, the second who you are looking for. Deadline is 6PM on Dec 12th. TechHub members have priority to pitch for talent if we have too many requests! And of course there is going to be a pitch session. So prepare your 3 minute pitches!
