Themepark: Foreign Experiences in Impact Investing

The Impact investing market in Germany is still in an early stage. There are only few established players and great skepticism towards the concept at large. Can a Social Entreprise really be of interest to an investor? Can the two worlds of “social” and “finance” productively work together? What have experiences in more established marketplaces shown? To explore these questions with you we invited Rodney Schwarz and Ryan Little to our upcoming Themepark event. Both have experienced a social finance market grow in the respective home countries of Canada and the UK. Rodney Schwartz is CEO of ClearlySo. ClearlySo helps social entrepreneurs raise capital. Their goal is to grow the social investment marketplace in the UK and help build a more social economy. Rodney’s background in equity research, investment banking and venture capital makes him an unconventional but authoritative champion for the social enterprise sector. Ryan Little is project manager at the BMW Foundation (scroll down to view Ryan's bio). The BMW Foundation is very active in field of social entrepreneurship and has recently begun to advocate the topic of social finance in Germany. Ryan is from Canada and has previously founded several successful companies like Canada Helps. Both our guests bring knowledge and experience on two established social finance marketplaces that they are eager to share.
