// Fireside Chat with Dr. Michal Vakrat Wolkin
Dr. Michal Vakrat Wolki is one of the inspiring women in the israeli R&D field. During our open hearted chat with Simona Valsky we will look back at Michal’s journey, different roles she held in her career, choices she has made and how it affected her professional and personal life. Being a successful woman in male-dominated industries and being an “immigrant” in the Valley, creates all kinds of different challenges. We get her perspective on the glass ceiling and whether it’s any different across the pond? In addition, Michal will share with us her “toolkit” with best practices from her career.

// Worth It - Negotiation from Female Perspective
When the time comes to say the price you want, or to negotiate on your terms, what happens to you? Are you comfortable? Maybe you're moving uncomfortably in your chair? Maybe you're avoiding it all? Or prefer to maintain a good relationship even at the cost of a financial loss?
To maximize resources and maintain good relationships, you need to know how to do it right.
We are operating in a new business climate where negotiation skills are needed more than ever. Remember, you do not get what you think you're worth, you get what you can achieve in negotiation.

// Building for Millions - Architecture at Scale
Back in the day, large-scale monolithic systems ruled the world. While these systems worked well in their time, we saw them quickly fall apart in the 2000s. Architecture of large scale, distributed systems today is completely different from the old monolith and includes enchanting buzzwords like microservices, serverless, infra as a service & more.
So when I come to build my next system, even if I’m not yet sure it’ll server millions of users - should I go with the state of the art large scale solution or start with a simple monolith like architecture?
In this talk I’ll answer this question, by walking you through the evolution of such a system, from day 1 onwards - what patterns and tools should be there from day 1, the type of challenges you might face along the way when scaling up and best architecture practices to resolve them.
