Workshop: Staying safe(r) on the Internet

!!! To apply, send email to rigatechgirls@gmail.com !!! !!! Event time: 18:30-20:30 Ladies, we invite you to join the new (and as always FREE) #RTGWorkshop: Staying safe(r) on the Internet. It will be in a form of ±1.5h technical lecture with possibility to ask questions afterwards. You will learn theory and get practical advices. Main goal of this workshop is to help you to become more digitally literate about basic yet very important security questions. To show how to be safe(r) on the Internet our workshop lead Arnis will cover following topics: -- Why HTTPS is important... and what does it even mean? -- How much can you trust public WiFi? -- What is a VPN and where you can go to jail for using it (tip: not in Latvia, no worries! :)) -- Passwords and password managers -- What is 2-factor authentication? -- Security of e-mails -- Backups You don't need any previous knowledge about security to participate.
