It will be held in English. It’s no secret that internet domain names are now called the 21st century real estate! Domain name squatting or hijacking has been the focus of many lawsuits also here in Latvia. Come and find out how to protect your corporate brand identity online, and forbid others from earning money on the sake of your reputation. Target audience: Everyone, especially PR & marketing representatives, new and experienced entrepreneurs. No previous knowledge about domain names is needed. Based on bunch of real life examples and over 10 year experience in domain industry, .lv registry (NIC) representatives will give you a 3h interactive theory on domain name system itself and a short 1h practical session based on real life examples. Grasping domain basics: - What exactly is a domain name and how does it work? - Introduction to the DNS (Domain Name System), what kind of domain extensions are available today & why should that matter to you? - Looking at an URL: what are top level, 2 nd level and 3 rd level domain names?
