ОПИСАНИЕ
betahaus Hamburg and Comspot proudly present the continuation of our popular event series WTF/FTW – Hype Reality Check. On March 31st with a special focus on Indoor Vertical Farming!
In 2050 according to a new UN study two out of three world’s citizen will be living in cities representing almost 80 % of the world’s population. To feed this sufficiently, the methods of food production must change to cover the demand for fresh food in mega cities.
On March 31, 2016 we want to question whether Indoor Vertical Farming could be a resourceefficient cultivation method to revolutionize the urban food supply, costefficient and ecologically.

ABOUT
WTF/FTW* – Hype Reality Check – The digital economy is teeming with technical terms, hypes and buzzwords. But what's behind the hype? We want to get away from bullshit bingo, towards findings that allow us to classify these trends in a really useful way. We want to spot trending topics and hypes sociologically and from a technological and journalistic perspective. In cooperation with Comspot and with the help of excellent speakers, we focus on quality and knowledge to not only create new buzzwords.
WTF/FTW* stands for an event series initiated by betahaus Hamburg. It deals with specific trends and socalled hypes. The events take place at betahaus Hamburg and every edition has a particular hype as a top issue. The focus is on high quality content and multifaceted consideration of the subject plus real value for the audience.
The Kickoff topic in June 2015 was "Internet of Things/3DPrinting", followed by “Augmented and Virtual Reality” in November 2015.
*("What the fuck / for the win" suggests the ambivalence in the perception of a hype, it should be considered from different perspectives, e. g. from a sociological, journalistic and and a technological perspective)
