C&DS: Are GANs ready to make our life better?

Hi, our meetings are back! Are you ready? :) This time we’ll talk about GANs (Generative Adversarial Networks), their application and dive into the theoretical perspective of them as part of the master's thesis of the UCU student Nickolay Mykhalych (under supervision of Artem Chernodub). He is working now as Data Scientist at Wix. Nickolay promised to discuss "mode collapse" problem and the way he has tried to solve this it in his research. Also, he will present his subjective view on the current state-of-the-art and further research needed for gaining a deeper understanding of generative models. Afterwards, we can chat about recent successes and how further commoditization of deep learning can make this approach applicable to real-world problems while drinking coffee and eating cookies ;) When: the 8th of February at 19:00 (7:00 PM) Where: downstairs in Lectorium (Kozelnytska Street, 2А).
